Pep Guardiola’s Man City blow West Ham away with tiki-taka football [Tweets]

Manchester City made light work of West Ham in yesterday night’s FA Cup 3rd round tie.

The game was essentially over by half-time, as City swept Slaven Bilic’s team aside with a wonderful show of fluid, attacking football.

3-0 up at half-time, they ran out 5-0 winners, and in truth it could have been double figures.

It was a complete performance from the 1st minute to the last from Pep’s team, and it’s arguably the defining performance of the Pep era so far.

Granted, West Ham are not the most formidable opponents, but to beat a Premier League opponent 5-0 away from home in the FA Cup is seriously impressive.

Tiki-taka football, Sublime Silva

Pep Guardiola hasn’t always managed to get his side to play his preferred tiki-taka style this season; Pep’s City are very much a work in progress.

But there were signs that the tiki-taka style is starting to take hold, as was evinced with the 3rd goal.

David Silva fittingly finished it off with a silky touch of class, and the Spanish midfielder completely bossed the show, before Pep showed some mercy and subbed him off.
