Lionel Messi shows off new personalised Adidas boots after heroics send Argentina to World Cup

Lionel Messi has had a week to remember after firing Argentina into the World Cup.

Jorge Sampaoli’s men looked set to miss next summer’s tournament before their talisman stepped up with a hat-trick against Ecuador.

And what better way to credit the Barcelona superstar than with his very own personalised boots.

Adidas launched their Pyro Storm pack last month featuring the Nemeziz 17+ 360 Agility, which will be worn by Julian Draxler and Roberto Firmino among others.

Messi isn’t part of the gang though – because he has got his own collection.

The Argentine’s name is wrapped across the impressive footwear, which are available in three separate colours.

Unsurprisingly, the boots don’t come cheap with Adidas pricing them at a cool £279.95.

Speaking after the win over Ecuador, Messi admitted the fear of missing the World Cup drove Argentina to victory.

“It was the fear of being knocked out, that would have been crazy for Argentina, for us and for everyone,” Messi said.

“It was the fear that saved us.”
