For a long time, some people have said that Nigerian female entertainers are more financially buoyant than their male colleagues. Some have insinuated that these entertainers got rich by sleeping with men for money. However, these female stars have constantly maintained that they don’t focus on the entertainment industry alone but have other businesses. TOLUWALOPE KAREEM takes a look at some of these celebs and their side hustles

Mercy Aigbe

Mercy Aigbe is well known as an actress. However, she is also a businesswoman and she has a boutique to her name. The boutique was launched some years back with many of her colleagues in attendance. The business has continued to grow and the actress now has another branch in Ibadan. With the way the actresses flaunts her expensive lifestyle, it is clear that business has been good.

Despite having to supervise her business, the actress still graces the silver screen doing what she knows how to do best.

Chika Ike

Actress, Chika Ike, is into real estate and she also owns a boutique in Abuja. She also has a production company and has produced a reality show.

The beautiful actress also runs a clothing line and a non-governmental organization. Though she hasn’t been regular on TV screens as she used to be, it is believed that she has been focusing on her business interests.

Iyabo Ojo

Iyabo Ojo has made her mark as an actress. She also has business acumen. Her business interests include a clothing store, skin care products, restaurant and film production.

Cee-C

Cynthia Nwadiora, popularly known as Cee-C, was one of the finalists of the popular reality television show, Big Brother Naija (Double-Wahala edition).

A year after appearing on the show, Cee-C launched her sportswear line in 2019. She often advertises the brand on social media.

Toke Makinwa

Broadcaster and social media personality, Toke makinwa, undoubtedly makes many young girls green with envy. Her jet-setting lifestyle and expensive tastes are constantly debated on social media by her numerous fans. On face value, it seems Makinwa has just been having fun without doing anything. However, her YouTube channel is constantly updated with content and her fans lap it up, which translates to money for her. Before that, she had launched her handbag line, TM Tote, and she seems to be doing pretty well.

A former Big Brother Naija housemate, Abiri Oluwabusayomi, better known as Khloe, is also an entrepreneur. She recently launched a make-up line, in addition to her skin care line, bikini line and online clothing store.

The duo are friends who turned business partners when they opened a hair salon in Lagos. In their own way, they are letting many know that businesses owned by friends can actually work.
